About

Dr. Bennett is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY8562) and a Licensed Educational Psychologist (EK864) in the State of California, as well as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PY0893) in the State of Nevada. She also has the distinction of being a Health Service Psychologist Provider for the National Register of Health Services (#34531), which endorses psychologists who have met the highest educational and training requirements. Additionally, Dr. Bennett holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Animals and Human Health Services with a specialization in Animal-Assisted Therapy, training and credentialing which allows her to use her Pet Partners Certified Therapy Dog, Simba, in the delivery of psychotherapeutic services. 


Dr. Bennett obtained her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, completing her internship at the University of California, Irvine and her residency at the Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Administration Hospital, Loma Linda.

In 2015, she returned to school for a year at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work, where she received her Post Graduate Certificate in Animals and Human Health, with a speciality in Animal-Assisted Therapy. She has held lecturer teaching positions at both California State University, Fullerton and the University of California, Irvine, as well as serving as an expert consultant to the Orange County Family Court, a variety of Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside public school districts, along with many private schools, and several community churches. Further, Dr. Bennett holds life-time memberships in the Orange County Psychological Association, the California State Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association. 

 

Dr. Bennett has been happily married for 40 years and is the mother of two amazing adult children, both of whom had the good fortune of marrying equally amazing partners.
